CSMLS advocacy efforts are focused on addressing the shortage of laboratory professionals across Canada. Our four-pronged approach includes advocating on:
- Expansion of training programs
- Supports for the successful integration of IEMLTs
- Optimizing the use of MLAs in health care
- Reducing low-value testing, through Lab Wisely initiatives
Congratulations to
Saskatchewan Polytechnic for adding ten new seats for future MLTs this Fall. In regards to MLA regulation, a necessary step towards optimizing the use of MLAs in health care, formal submissions are before the Governments of Nova Scotia and Alberta. A submission to the Government of Ontario is currently in progress.
