Provincial Organizations

Each province has a provincial organization which represents the profession in that province. In Quebec, l'Ordre professionnel des technologistes médicaux du Québec is the regulatory body established under the Professional Code of Quebec to regulate professional practice. In New Brunswick, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan, the provincial society serves both as the regulatory body and the professional society. The College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario is the regulatory body; the provincial society, the OSMT, is a separate organization.

The Council of Presidents of the CSMLS has representation from each province. Through this body and through a network of committees, the national and provincial bodies cooperate to serve and promote the profession.
