A member who is certified as a medical laboratory assistant by either the CSMLS and/or a provincial regularatory body, and is working in the field of medical laboratory science. |

| A member who is certified as a medical laboratory assistant by either the CSMLS and/or a provincial regulatory body, and is not working in the field of medical laboratory science. |

member who is enrolled as a full-time student in a CMA accredited
training program. |

| A member who is enrolled in either a full time medical laboratory technology
training program that has applied for CMA Accreditation or a full-time (minimum
300 hours) CSMLS approved bridging program (accelerated) medical laboratory
training program. |

| Associate Non-Certified | |||||
| A member who is not CSMLS certified, and is not eligible for membership under any other membership category. This category replaces Subscriber status. |

Professional Liability Insurance and Legal Defence Coverage is mandatory for all certified active members of CSMLS. Members who purchase PLI coverage from their provincial society (ON, QC, SK) may sign a waiver to request exemption from this requirement. The cost is $13 (plus provincial sales tax in ON, QC and NF). PLI is also mandatory for all
certified laboratory assistant members (members who purchase
PLI coverage from the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists
are exempt). The cost is $7 (plus PST in Ontario). |
